Prof. Dr. Ege Can Serefoglu

Dr. Ege Can Şerefoğlu was born in İskenderun in 1979 and graduated from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. In the same year, he began his specialization training in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. After June 2004, he continued his specialization at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, Department of Urology, and became a urologist in April 2009.

During his specialization, Dr. Şerefoğlu had the opportunity to publish his studies on erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation in national and international scientific journals. He also worked on pediatric urology during his education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and Radboud University Department of Urology (Netherlands).

After serving for 2 years at Mardin Kızıltepe State Hospital as a State Service Obligee, he started to work on Andrology at Tulane University School of Medicine (USA) in 2010. Dr. Şerefoğlu, who worked in the Departments of Urology at Ankara Medicana International Hospital (2012-2013) and Istanbul Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital (2013-2017), was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Urology in 2014.

Dr. Şerefoğlu, who is a member of many national and international urology associations, is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Society for Sexual Health (ESSM), the Strategy and Development/Communication Committee of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), the Young Academic Urology Working Group and the Male Sexual Dysfunction Guideline Committee of the European Association of Urology (EAU). Dr. Şerefoğlu, who also serves as the General Secretary of the Sexual Health Department of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), was awarded the “Amsterdam Young Scientist” award in 2012 and the “European Society for Sexual Medicine Award of Excellence” award in 2018 due to his work. 

Dr. Şerefoğlu, who is currently conducting scientific studies at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology and Medipol University Department of Histology & Embryology, was awarded the title of “Professor” in 2019.
